Diskpart says the disk/volume is not on read only. Attempted to fix via bootrec. Bootrec /fixmbr bootrec.exe /fixboot. Both complete successfully. Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd. Locates the windows installation, but when i try to add it to the boot list, 'The requested system device cannot be found'. I'm not really sure what else i can do. Dec 16, 2015. I've got a bootable USB drive here with all versions of Windows ready to install, just waiting for my SSD to arrive tomorrow morning and my PC will be complete. That is what garages and attics are for, dude. It looks like bootrec /rebuildbcd is what I'm looking for, among some other potential commands. Neither of my friends has heard of this kind of problem before, both have installed xubuntu alongside windows before (one of them has done it many times). I am afraid to. BootRec.exe /FixBoot #updates PBR partition boot sector or see bootsect.exe commands chkdsk c: /r BootRec.exe /ScanOs BootRec.exe /RebuildBcd.

Alright so everything seems to be working now, I installed Windows 10 with no problems now. I don't know how to explain why it worked all of a sudden but thank you so very much RainfallWithIn especially him for his patience and everyone else for the help and their input. I guess for other people who are looking into this can now see this especially if they have an Alienware Aurora R4 Late 2011 Model like me and keeps reseting once the Windows 10 installation gets to 24%/25%. For the people with the computer from Alienware just make sure you have your Windows 7 Alienware Disc and the Alienware Resource DVD because you will need it. The best thing to do is reset the entire computer just to remove any possible programs from messing with the installation. It's best to do a fresh installation Windows 7 from the Alienware Disc, because the Windows 10 installation wont have any hiccups during the initial downloading and installing, make sure to keep any files because the Alienware Resource drivers are needed. Man it's been a long two weeks doing all the trouble shooting, especially in the last 24 hours basically working form a bricked computer and installing all the updates while trying to pack for college at the same time.

Ultimately taking more then 16 hours alone, so if anything looks slurry or doesn't make sense sorry. Finally I think this is what ultimately made the Windows 10 installation work, I think the Recovery partition and ESP partition were conflicting with the WIndows 10 installation and causing it to reset at the 24%/25% mark. • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 • Alienware 07JNH0 (Bios Version - Alienware A11 ) • Intel Core i7 3820 @ 3.60GHz • 16.0GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 (stock) • 2TB Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 • Now the power supply I suppose is a 850W power supply although I don't know the brand, since it is a Alienware computer. Now of course as you read the specs the computer is an Alienware computer that I received as a gift back in 2012, and since I'm going away to college I thought why not update to Windows 10.

Well that's been actually a pain in my rear as for the past five days I have been struggling to upgrade to Windows 10 as it just keeps sending me back to Windows 7 with the error along the lines of (0x80070005-0x2000A SAFE_OS phase during PREPARE_FIRST_BOOT) and sending me back to the Windows 7 Desktop. I couldn't grab a screenshot so a shammy potato picture was the only thing I could grab from this, because the only thing it allowed me to use was my cursor until I closed the error message. I've searched all over Google, Reddit, and other PC forums like Overclock and found little to no help from any of the troubleshoots, only to find this one Microsoft Troubleshoot, otherwise I'm at a loss for help. I've tried Microsoft Support and that virtually got me no where. Outliers Torrent Pdf.

EDIT: I tried Windows Update Diagnostic. I'm using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from. What I noticed though after doing it about three more times is that it stops at 24% and reverts back. Finally I did uninstall my antivirus and anti malware software before upgrading. Serial Terminal For Windows Ce. At this point I would: - Backup your files. - Reinstall Windows 7.

- Activate Windows 7. - Check for all available updates and install them; Control Panel ->Windows Update. - Upgrade to Windows 10.

- Check that Windows 10 is activated. This may not be ideal for you, but I'm sure that it will be quicker than trying to figure out which particular process is preventing Windows 10 from being installed with your current Windows 7 installation. You can download Windows 7 from here if you need to.

Did you make a DVD/USB flash drive with the ISO of Windows or are you just making it upgrade right away from the built-in option in the media creation tool? If you aren't doing it already, burn the ISO and use that instead (launch the setup.exe on the ISO while in Windows, in order to upgrade). If all else keep failing, reinstall Windows 7, then upgrade to Windows 10. Trying this as we speak my Product Key is in the back of my PC and I cant see it cause of all the peripherals I have plugged in so this might take awhile. ____________________________________________________________ So the same result as times before, I'll reinstall windows 7 then upgrade. ____________________________________________________________ So according to Microsoft I need to find the disk now, so to the attic I go.
